Councilmember Alexandra Scott

An Oklahoma Native, Councilmember Alexandra Scott graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Classical Studies and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Non-Profit Management.  Alex's passion for politics came about when she was completing her undergraduate degree and serving in the Student Government Association at OU where she became familiar with parliamentary procedure, and the policy making process at the university. She became further motivated to serve her community while working as a teacher through educational activism where she served in different capacities for several years.

Councilmember Scott began her official service with the City of Norman as Councilmember for Ward Eight on July 3, 2018.  Ward Eight includes the northwest portion of the City with boundaries of the City limits on the north side.  South of Rock Creek Road between 36th Avenue West and 12th Avenue East with Robinson Street being the southern boundary.  It also includes a small area south of Robinson Street between Westwood Park and Flood Avenue.

She and her husband Kalynn are two year residents of Ward Eight and love traveling with their dogs.

Councilmember Scott is energetic and exited for this opportunity to serve the citizens of Ward 8.  She serves on the Council Community Planning and Transportation Committee and also serves as Council’s representative to the School Citizens Advisory Committee.
