Registration Now Open for Second Annual Zombie Escape

Registration is now open for the second annual Zombie Escape hosted by the City of Norman Parks and Recreation Department. The Zombie Escape is September 30 at 5 p.m. at the Griffin Park Disc Golf Course. The registration fee is $15 and includes a t-shirt and medal. 

The event is open to youth and adults of all ages. Registration is open through September 17. 

Sanitation services to stay on schedule for Labor Day

The City of Norman sanitation services will maintain the regular schedule for the Labor Day holiday on September 4. Sanitation services include commercial and residential curbside waste collection, as well as recycling and yard waste.

The City of Norman administrative offices will be closed in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

PlanNorman survey seeks input on Preferred Growth Plan for Norman

The City of Norman is seeking input from the community about the Preferred Growth Plan for the Comprehensive Plan, which is the plan that will help guide future growth in the city.

The survey also includes questions about different types of neighborhoods that will help shape the future growth and provide direction for future housing, commercial development and job growth. 

BNSF repairing signal crossing at Franklin Road

BNSF Railway began a grade signal crossing repair at Franklin Road this afternoon. The repair required the crossing to be closed to vehicles and pedestrians. The work is expected to be completed Wednesday morning.

McGee Drive and West Lindsey intersection reopens; south half of two other intersections closing

The south half the McGee Drive and West Lindsey Street intersection will reopen Wednesday.  As construction continues, the south half of Berry Road at West Lindsey and the south half of Wiley Road at West Lindsey will close.  Both intersections are expected to be reopened to through traffic in early September.

Concord Drive to close for AT&T fiber optics project

Starting this morning at 9 a.m. through August 8 at 4 p.m., Concord Drive, just east of Creekside Drive, will be closed by a subcontractor for AT&T to complete a bore under the roadway for a fiber optics project. 

James Garner south of Acres to close Monday

UPDATE: Due to recent rains, this street is now scheduled to reopen by 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 24.
