City of Norman to Host Watershed Cleanup Event on April 30

The City of Norman will host its first Pick Your Watershed Cleanup event on April 30 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Volunteers will choose either Prairie Creek Park, 2025 Pendleton Drive, in the Canadian River watershed, or George Sutton Wilderness Park, 1920 12th Ave. NE, in the Lake Thunderbird watershed.

“This will be a fun, family-friendly event that will help make a difference in these two watershed areas,” said Michele Loudenback, stormwater program specialist. “It’s a perfect community volunteer event for scouts, civic clubs and environmental groups.”

Supplies, water and snacks will be provided, and door prizes will be awarded.

To ensure adequate supplies, volunteers are encouraged to sign up in advance by calling Michele Loudenback at 366-5435 or by email at Michele.Loudenback@NormanOK.gov.
