Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event November 18, 2017 9:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.

Help protect Norman’s environment by
bringing your household hazardous waste to Norman’s annual Household Hazardous
Waste Collection Event scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. November 18, 2017, in
the southwest parking lot of the Lloyd Noble Center.  Citizens coming to the event need to enter
from Jenkins or Chautauqua.  There is no
charge to residents of Norman.

The collection provides an
opportunity for Norman residents to get rid of dangerous items that cannot be
put in the wastestream or taken to the landfill.

What you need to know:

Bring proof that you are a Norman resident 

Keep products in their orginal containers

Don't mix chemicals

There is no charge for disposal of your HHW

There are some types of waste we are not able to accept at this
event. They include: radioactive waste, explosives, business-generated waste,
yard waste, compressed gas or containers, biomedical waste (with the exception
of sharps), and household trash.

We can accept automotive fluids, car batteries and NiCd
batteries, car tires (without rims), computers and other e-waste, TVs, craft
and hobby supplies, flammable solvents, household cleaners, medicine, paint,
paint thinners and Turpentine, pool chemicals,
pesticides-herbicides-fertilizer; and metal appliances such as refrigerators.
We can accept sharps if they are in a rigid container such as a laundry
detergent bottle.
