New compost release set for March 25

A new release of compost will be available for Norman residents March 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the City of Norman’s compost facility. The facility is located at 398 Bratcher Miner Road, which is south of Highway 9 between Jenkins and Chautauqua.

Mulch is available now. There is no charge for residents who load the mulch or compost themselves. For residents needing assistance, the cost is $10 per scoop, which is approximately three cubic yards or about 2000 pounds.

Normal operating hours for the facility are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beginning April 1, the compost site’ summer hours will be in effect. The summer operating hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Summer hours are in effect through the end of September.
