Job Description
Duties: 
Operates and maintains a variety of print shop multifunction equipment in order to scan, copy, print, bind, collate, hole punch, pad, cut, fold and stuff printed materials. Processes both routine and special orders. Uses computer software to create customized documents. Reads information from print shop work order to determine job assignment, deadline, and the most effective/efficient manner for conducting print job with the materials and equipment available. Communicates with customers, both in person and over the phone, in order to provide information and assistance regarding print shop operations and service. Works with confidential information. Programs copier to perform various duplicating jobs. Cleans and properly maintains all machines and equipment.
Other Responsibilties: 
Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and materials for printing needs; organizes and stocks shelves. Retrieves and delivers incoming and inter-office mail at various City buildings; meters mail and picks up and delivers same to the Post Office. Performs duties of the Printing Services Operator II position in that person’s absence. Assists with delivering and unpacking personal computers (PC) and printers whenever possible. Performs other related work as required.
Working Conditions: 
Most work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures. Exposure to noise, dust, and odors. Some exposure to printing and binding chemicals such as glues and print toners. Delivery of personal computers and printers to City facilities using City vehicle.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience: 
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year related experience in operating printing equipment.
Knowledge: 
Oral and written communication. Operating principles, use, care, and maintenance of duplicators, copiers, and related printing and bindery equipment. Various computer software such as Adobe desktop publishing for creating customized documents when necessary. Understands postal practices; can perform mathematical calculations.
Skills: 
Good interpersonal skills necessary to be courteous, pleasant, and helpful to customers while performing duties. Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of supervision. Working cooperatively and effectively with customers and supervisor.
License and/or Certification: 
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
Mental & Physical: 
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to work with confidential information. Ability to work with minimum directions. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Ability to perform effectively under deadlines and in stressful situations. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull moderately heavy (25-50 lb.) and heavy (50-75 lb.) supplies, materials, and objects. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
