Whittier Recreation Center - 2000 West Brooks
Shift: 
2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday during the school year. (August-May) Hours Vary during the summer. Works 15-20 hours per week during the school year and 30-38 hours a week during the summer.
Salary: 
$11.17 per hour

Job Description
Duties: 
Responsible for working in a program for youths ages six (6) to ten (10). Organizes sports activities, recreational games, and craft classes. Participates in field trips with staff and campers. Performs general janitorial and maintenance duties. Performs other related duties as required. May work special events when scheduled.
Working Conditions: 
Works in a Recreation Center environment; however, time is spent outside exposed to temperature extremes, dirt, dust, noise, etc.

Education and Experience: 
Applicant must be at least sixteen (16) years of age. Experience working with youths in a recreational atmosphere.
Knowledge: 
Recreation activities and programs. General office equipment.
Skills: 
Oral communication. Interpersonal skills necessary to be courteous to fellow employees and participants while performing duties.
Mental & Physical: 
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Ability to lift and carry light (up to 25 lb.) supplies , materials, and equipment frequently. Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy (25-50 lb.) supplies , materials and equipment occasionally. Work requires continued walking, stooping , standing, and some climbing. Ability to maintain regular predictable and punctual attendance.
