Weekly Yard Waste Collection is Now Year Round

The Norman City Council recently amended the ordinance pertaining to the pick-up of yard waste to include year-round weekly collection.  This schedule replaces the previous winter months’ collection that was monthly during December, January and February.

Yard waste should be placed in disposable bags or in watertight cans which hold up to 35 gallons. Sticks and branches should be two inches in diameter or smaller, and tied in bundles no more than four feet in length.

Residents should place yard waste within seven feet of the curbside. If there is no curb, it can be placed within seven feet of the edge of the street or drive way.

Since yard waste is composted, it is important that it not be combined with any other type of waste. Compost and mulch is available for pick up throughout winter months while supplies last.
