Winter weather advisory

Winter weather advisory
Norman City and Cleveland County crews are treating bridges and overpasses throughout the city in anticipation of winter precipitation. Crews will be on standby throughout the weather event to treat roadways and perform road clearing operations as needed.
During snowy or icy conditions drivers are asked to:
•    Stay at least 200 feet behind road-clearing equipment to allow crews room to maneuver plowing equipment and spread materials
•    Allow extra space between vehicles to provide adequate braking distance
•    Be aware of “black ice,” which looks wet on the roadway but is a thin layer of ice
•    Check weather conditions before traveling
•    Be patient, plan trips ahead and allow extra time in reaching destinations
