Norman Water Treatment Plant offers free testing for private wells impacted by flooding


The City of Norman Water Treatment Plant is offering free bacteriological testing of private water wells that have been submerged in floodwater. Water from a flooded well should not be drunk until it has been disinfected and sample analysis shows it is safe for consumption.
Resident’s with affected wells can visit the WTP at 300 East Robinson Ave. to pick up the sample collection materials from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The testing is limited to Total Coliform and Escherichia Coli bacteria.
