The NPD Criminal Investigations Division is hosting a community information session for parents and young adults on sextortion on April 30 from 6-7PM at the Norman Investigations Center, 1511 W. Lindsey Street. The event will help equip parents with information on current trends and how to talk to their children about internet safety. 

Sextortion is a growing trend of blackmail used for the gain of sexual material or money through online manipulation and threats. The results of sextortion events are devastating and can cause lasting harm to the victims of these crimes. 

The community information session is free and open to the public. Attendees will receive an informative presentation on sextortion including tips and resources as well as interactive question and answer session with investigators.
