Norman residents are invited to a series of workshops designed to gather information and feedback as the community prepares for the future through the city's Area & Infrastructure Master Plan process.
The emerging community document will help shape the course of the community over the next two decades. Work kicked off in 2023.
Workshops are scheduled for:
- Monday, Feb. 12, Roosevelt Elementary School cafeteria, 4250 W. Tecumseh
- Tuesday, Feb. 13, Jefferson Elementary School cafeteria, 250 N. Cockrel
- Thursday, Feb. 15, Lakeview Elementary School cafeteria, 3310 108th Avenue NE
- Monday, March 11, Truman Elementary School cafeteria, 600 Parkside Road
- Tuesday, March 12, McKinley Elementary School cafeteria, 728 S. Flood
- Thursday, March 14, Little Axe Community Center, 1000 168th Ave NE
All workshops will be held from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
According to the planning team, the workshops are the next step in the process of gathering information and building the plans that will evolve over the next several months. The team noted that any materials utilized in the workshops, including maps and designs, are for planning purposes and discussion. No decisions or determinations have yet been made regarding final recommendations.
The AIM Norman project is examining seven distinct elements of city infrastructure, services and growth, including:
- Comprehensive Land Use Plan
- Housing Market Analysis & Affordability Strategy
- Comprehensive Transportation Plan Update
- Stormwater Master Plan Update
- Water Master Plan Update
- Wastewater Master Plan
- Parks Master Plan Update
