City of Norman employees collaborate to give back with Annual United Way Partnerships and Campaigns

City of Norman staff continue a tradition of charitable giving in leading its 2024 United Way of Norman Campaign, complete with friendly competitions, associate events and raffles open to the entire community.

"We are proud to support the United Way of Norman, which assisted more than 80,000 neighbors in need last year," said City Manager Darrel Pyle. "This umbrella organization focuses on helping to provide human services at a local level and truly fills in the gaps when it comes to taking care of our community."

As an organization, the City of Norman has set the pace as a Top 5 Giver for the past several years. An employee-led campaign committee, assembled from representatives from nearly every major department, leads the way in creating drives and fundraisers that raise funds as well as awareness for local nonprofits.

"Each year we come together and share stories about the impact of United Way and each year we learn that someone we know and love has been touched by one of their partner agencies," said Tiffany Vrska, Chief Communications Officer and Employee Committee Co-Chair. "I think that is why our team is so passionate about doing all we can to help – we're all in the business of serving other people."

This month, the Norman Police Department made a splash with the Dunk a Cop Fundraiser and more fun is on the horizon. Through November, check out raffle opportunities or other events through links below! Email PublicAffairs@Normanok.gov for more information.
