The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Norman once more in recognition of the organization’s Comprehensive Financial Report for FYE 2022.
The report, judged by an impartial panel of finance professionals, met quality standards of the program to include “demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to review the report. This achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a municipality and its management.
“Our team takes great pride and great care in the preparing of financial budgets and reports each year,” said Anthony Francisco, Norman Finance Director. “We commend the efforts of staff within the Finance Department and citywide for continuing to work together to deliver exceptional products that illustrate accountability and transparency for the City of Norman.”
Finance reports and budgets can be reviewed at any time at normanok.gov. Financials for the City of Norman are also discussed at public meetings of the Norman City Council Finance Committee on the third Thursday of each month.
