City of Norman staff to engage with community during “Norman in the Know” events on April 24 and May 1

The Norman Neighbors Project, powered through the Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma, will partner with City of Norman staff to host two “Norman in the Know” events from 6-7:30 p.m. on April 24 and May 1. The free events will take place at the Development Center, 225 N. Webster, and provide community members opportunities for 1-on-1 discussions with City of Norman leadership.

Management from various city departments, as well as elected officials, will be available to share vital information and answer questions through roundtable discussion with Normanites. The April 24 event will be development-focused, while the May 1 event will be public safety-focused.

“We have had rewarding experiences with hosting these types of workshops in the past and are hopeful for two evenings of great turnout,” said Lisa Krieg, CDBG Grants Manager for the City of Norman. “We appreciate all opportunities to engage with the residents we serve.”

Popular items of discussion include: Tall grass and weeds, yard parking, abandoned structures, inoperable vehicles and loose animals. Refreshments will be provided and attendees will be set up for 20-minute rotations for visits with City officials during the events.
