City Offices Close Thursday, Friday Next Week in Observance of Thanksgiving

The City of Norman Administrative Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

 

Sanitation Division

The Sanitation Division will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26. Trash, yard waste and recycling collection will be delayed one day, service will be as follows:

  • Customers with Thursday collection will shift to Friday.
  • Customers with Friday collection will shift to Saturday.

The Compost Facility and the Transfer Station will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will reopen on Friday with normal operating hours. The Compost Facility located at 398 Bratcher Miner Road is open on Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the Transfer Station located at 3901 S. Chautauqua is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Debris Removal

Debris removal operations from the October storm will not run Thursday through Sunday. Seven days a week collection will resume Monday and residents should continue to place their debris at the curb. Commercial debris cannot be collected. See specific guidance here.

 

Transit

The City transit service will not operate on Thursday.

 

Parks and Recreation

All recreation centers will be closed on Thursday and Friday. Westwood Golf, located at 240 Westport Drive, will reopen on Friday.
