On the morning of 8/22/22, both lanes of East Rock Creek Road will be closed in a 200 foot section between 24th Avenue NE and 36th Avenue NE to accommodate for construction. The closure will last approximately one week, weather permitting. A signed detour will be in place using 24th Avenue NE, East Tecumseh Road and 36th Avenue NE. Access to the Rock Creek Road properties will be from the east at 36th Avenue NE.

A Petroleum Pipeline near 24th Avenue NE needs an updated valve control system constructed on the north side of Rock Creek Road, which will require a temporary bypass under the road to be installed. For safety reasons, this requires a temporary road closure. The construction will work on extensive bore pits one week prior to closure, but should not affect the existing road. The drive approach to the valve control site will also be replaced in the last phase of work. 

Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline will be conducting this project with Brandon Haerle as the project manager, who can be contacted at 405-844-5609. Infrastructure and traffic control inspection will be conducted by the City of Norman, 405-366-5452. Traffic control devices will be installed to help direct the traveling public.
