The City of Norman Environmental Control Advisory Board (ECAB) has opened nominations for the 2023 James O. Harp Environmental Recognition Award, an award to highlight exceptional environmental volunteerism in the Norman community. Nominations will be accepted through January 31, 2024.
“Norman has a wonderful history of community involvement and service from many dedicated and hardworking volunteers,” said Michele Loudenback, Manager of the Division of Environmental Sustainability & Resiliency. “Our environment has benefited from so many tireless advocates and workers. By nominating an environmental volunteer, folks can help recognize those critical efforts that often occur behind the scenes and without fanfare.”
Nomination forms and instruction can be accessed at Normanok.gov. Forms should be returned via email to Michele.Loudenback@normanok.gov. Categories of nomination include: Individual/Group; Business; or Nonprofit Organization/Agency/School.
ECAB investigates, prepares, plans for, and recommends programs regarding the preservation and enhancement of the environmental quality of the City and also administers variance procedures in the Air Quality Control Ordinance. The 9-person board meets monthly at Norman City Hall. Learn more at Normanok.gov.
