The Norman Police Department (NPD) responded to a report of an incident involving a kidnapping, burglary, and robbery in the 200 block of E. Dale Avenue on Tuesday.
Once on scene, the 75-year-old victim reported to officers that 58-year-old Daniel Freeman (DOB: 8/6/1966) had forced entry into her home, bound her hands and feet, and tied her down to a chair. Freeman then used the victim’s vehicle without her permission in an attempt to withdraw funds from her bank account. When he was unsuccessful, he untied the victim and forced her to ride with him to the bank, while under duress, to withdraw funds. Freeman had previously been hired by the victim to complete several projects at her residence.
Officers with the NPD Special Investigations Section arrested Freeman without incident in Norman on August 22. Freeman was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on complaints of kidnapping, first degree burglary, and robbery.
The incident remains under investigation.
