The Norman Police Department responded to the 700 block of Ash Lane on October 11 in regard to a report of an auto burglary. The reporting party pointed officers to a residence in the 3300 block of Ash Lane where he had seen the suspect run into the backyard of the residence.
Upon a search of the residence, officers located the suspect hiding in the attic of the garage. The suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Cameron O'Neal, was taken into custody without further incident. Stolen property including a $2,000 in tools and a handgun stolen from the vehicle located in the 700 block of Ash Lane were located. Based on the property found, O'Neal was connected to at least two auto burglaries in the area. All items were returned to the victims.
O'Neal was transported to the Cleveland County Detention Center and booked in on the following complaints: two counts of third degree burglary, two counts of knowingly concealing stolen property, one count of obstruction, and possession of a firearm after felony conviction.
