The Norman Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Twisted Oaks Drive at approximately 7:45 a.m. Tuesday (September 28) in regard to a report of a stolen vehicle. At approximately 8:14 a.m., officers received information regarding suspicious activity in the 1400 block of Glen Oaks Drive. The reporting party stated that an unknown male was going through a vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle taking on Twisted Oaks Drive.
Once on scene, officers located the vehicle. It was confirmed to be the vehicle stolen from the 2200 block of Twisted Oaks Drive earlier in the day. Witnesses provided officers with a clothing description and direction of travel. Officers quickly located the suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Bobby Reed, in a field near Lindsey Street and 24th Avenue SE. Reed was taken into custody following a short foot pursuit. Additional property from the vehicle was located in Reed's backpack.
Reed was transported to the Cleveland County Detention Center and booked in on complaints of unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of stolen property, and possession of marijuana.
