The Norman Police Department (NPD) arrested one individual following a fatality collision at the intersection of Rock Creek Road and 60th Avenue NW.
NPD responded to a report of an injury collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Rock Creek Road and 60th Avenue NW at approximately 12:27 p.m. Sunday (July 28). The initial investigation indicates that a truck traveling westbound on Rock Creek Road at a high rate of speed did not stop for the stop sign and collided with an SUV traveling on 60th Avenue NW.
The SUV was occupied by four individuals. A 40-year-old female died as a result of injuries sustained during the collision. A 38-year-old male was transported to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition. A 13-year-old female and a 10-year-old male were also transported to an area hospital in serious but stable condition.
The driver of the truck, later identified as 22-year-old Bradyn Brown (DOB: 02/01/2002), fled the scene. Brown was later arrested at approximately 9:38 p.m. and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on complaints of first degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury.
The collision remains under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
