The Norman Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 2100 block of Bates Way at approximately 3:12 p.m. Wednesday.

Once on scene, officers located two individuals deceased at the residence. The initial investigation indicates that during the course of an incident 58-year-old Byron Lee Carpenter (DOB: 09/14/1962) shot 56-year-old David Wilhelm (DOB: 09/17/1964) before shooting himself. Both individuals died as a result of the injuries sustained during the course of the incident.

The incident remain under investigation by the NPD Criminal Investigations Division.
