NPD Arrests One in connection to Shooting

The Norman Police Department (NPD) responded to a report of a shooting in the 2500 block of W. Main Street at approximately 8 p.m. on June 10. 

The initial investigation indicates that several shots were fired during a disturbance. The suspect ran from the area with the firearm before officers arrived. No injuries were reported. 

Officers established a perimeter and quickly located the suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Shawn Richmond. Richmond was taken into custody following a short foot pursuit and was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on complaints of possession of a firearm while intoxicated, public intoxication, and obstruction. Officers also recovered the firearm.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
