The extreme weather conditions have affected treatment systems at the City of Norman Water Treatment plant causing low pressure across Norman. Crews are working diligently to repair the impacted components and restore water service as quickly as possible.
Water continues to be supplied from the City’s well field and water towers. While a complete water shut off is not anticipated at this time, residents are asked to use water sparingly.
We are asking all dripping of faucets be discontinued until further notice, instead, open cabinets and use space heaters near pipes.
Residents are also asked to avoid using high water use appliances or fixtures such as dishwashers, washing machines, etc. until normal water service has resumed. Customers can also take shorter showers, turn off the water when brushing your teeth, make sure sprinklers are turned off and promptly repair household leaks.
Updates will be provided as conditions change.
