Entry

  • Bag Checks: for the safety and wellbeing of patrons, staff, and general operations of this facility, Westwood Family Aquatic Center staff will be conducting bag checks on every guest entering the park.
  • No weapons, no glass, no outside food and drinks (including alcohol), and no illegal drugs.
  • Swimmers ages 13 – 15 years may not be dropped off at the Westwood family Aquatic Center unsupervised unless one of the following criteria have been met: accompaniment by a non-staff member adult ages 18 years or older, completion of the Jr. Elite Lifeguard Program, or completion of the Teen Aquatic Safety Program (T.A.S.P.)

General

Swimming Attire
  • Swim suits must be family friendly.
  • Street cloth and under wear are not permitted.
  • Swim Diapers are required for all non-toilet trained patrons.
  • Swim Diapers may be purchased at the front Office.
  • Swim Diapers must be worn with a swim suit.
Patron Safety
  • The aquatic center can accommodate 860 visitors and has trained and certified lifeguards on staff.
  • Lifeguards are in place for the safety of ALL patrons; show respect by following lifeguard instructions.
  • Parents or guardians must supervise all children ages 15 years and under and must remain within arm’s reach of any child under the age of 7 years.
  • Running, dunking, pushing, excessive splashing, wrestling are not permitted
  • Fights, violent threats, and foul language are not permitted
Swim Test
  • At the discretion of the lifeguard, any swimmer may be asked to demonstrate their swimming ability.
  • Swimmer must show they can swim 15 yards nonstop, and tread water for 1 minute
Non-Swimmers
  • Non-swimmers are required to wear a Westwood Family Aquatic Center Coast Guard approved life jacket and stay within arms-length of an adult; 18 years or older. "Puddle Jumpers" that are coast guard approved may also be used. We have free life jackets for your use.

Water Slides

  • Manufactures regulations require that all riders be must 48” or taller to use the water slide. No exceptions will be made.
  • Masks, goggles or glasses are not allowed to be worn while sliding.
  • T-shirts and swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornamentation are not permitted.
  • Pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride the slide.
  • Only one user allowed be on the slide platform at a time.
  • Patrons must make sure the plunge pool area is clear and wait for signal from the lifeguard before entering the slide. Swimming is not permitted in the roped off section of the slide.
  • Only one rider is permitted on the slide at a time. Patrons are not permitted to ride with children in their lap.
  • The slide must be ridden feet first.
  • Hands and feet must be kept inside the slide at all times.
  • Diving into/off of, kneeling, changing positions, slowing down, stopping, forming chains or sliding down head first is prohibited at all times.
  • Catching children as they exit the slide is not permitted.
  • Patrons must exit the water immediately after using the slide.
  • The water slide may be closed at the discretion of the Aquatic Staff.

Toddler, Splash Pad, and Lazy River

Toddler Pool
  • The toddler pool is designed for children ages 6 years and under. Older kids may also use the pool but need to be mindful on the little ones.
  • An adult (18 years or older) must stay within arms-length at all times.
Splash Pad
  • The Splash Pad is designed for children ages 12 years and under.
  • An adult (18 years or older) must stay within arms-length at all times.
Lazy River
  • The number of people allowed in the current channel will be determined by the Lifeguard On Duty.
  • Sitting, standing, diving off of, or hanging on the wall is not allowed
  • A capable/experienced swimmer must accompany children who are non-swimmers.
