Job Description

This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.

Education and Experience:  High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year experience in basic automotive servicing and repair. Participation in Fleet ASE Certification Program highly encouraged.

Licenses and Certifications:  Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record. Must obtain Oklahoma Commercial Driver’s License, Class B within 1 year of employment, training and expenses provided.

Knowledge:Parts location and structure of automotive vehicles, utility trailers and light equipment. Preventive maintenance techniques. Basic tablet skills, ability to enter data fully and correctly into our web based Fleet software, training provided. Emissions and inspections standards. Safety practices related to repair of equipment.

Skills:  Using work aids and hand/power tools. Diagnosing malfunctions in equipment. Reassembling parts & equipment. Following oral and written instructions. Communicating both orally and in writing using a tablet.

Essential Functions:  Uses a tablet to enter Preventive Maintenance Inspection results, labor and parts data into our fleet management system. Determines location and cause of vehicle or equipment malfunction by visual and manual inspection prior to beginning actual service. Takes condition pictures of equipment and saves them electronically. Works with in-house parts vendor to retrieve from stock the parts needed for servicing of vehicle. Per- forms visual and manual preventative maintenance tasks to ensure safe and serviceable operation of vehicle. Re- pairs flat tires, checks fluids in vehicles and replenishes or replaces as needed. Operates front end alignment machine, training provided. Cleans all vehicles and equipment. Performs related work as assigned.

Mental and Physical Abilities:  Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy (25-50 lb.) materials, supplies, and equipment frequently. Ability to lift heavy (50-75 lb.) materials, supplies, and equipment occasionally. Work re- quires continued walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.

Working Conditions: Frequent exposure of up to 80% of work time to dirt, dust, extremes of temperature, and noxious fumes and odors.

Additional Information: Selected applicant must pass background investigation, physical examination and drug screen.
