The City of Norman Administrative Offices will be closed 11/23/23 and 11/24/23 to observe the Thanksgiving Holiday. See below for additional details regarding the Solid Waste Division, City Transit services and Parks & Recreation.

SOLID WASTE COLLECTION

The Solid Waste Division will be closed on Thanksgiving Day – Thursday 11/23/23.
Trash, Yard Waste and Recycling collection will be delayed one day beginning with those customers that have a Thursday pick-up.

Thursday 11/23/23 service will be done on Friday 11/24/23. Customers regularly serviced on Friday 11/24/23 will be picked up on Saturday 11/25/23. The Compost Facility and the Transfer Station will be closed on Thanksgiving Day 11/23/23 but will reopen on Friday 11/24/23 with normal operating hours. On Fridays, the Compost Facility, located at 398 Bratcher Miner Road, is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and the Transfer Station, located at 3901 S. Chautauqua, is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

TRANSIT

The City transit service – EMBARK Norman – will not operate on Thursday 11/23/23. Find a schedule and real-time information at embarknorman.com.

PARKS & RECREATION

All recreation centers will be closed on Thursday 11/23/23 and Friday 11/24/23. Westwood Golf and Tennis, 2400 Westport Drive, will be closed Thursday 11/23/23 and open regular hours on Friday 11/24/23. 

The Adult Wellness and Education Center, 602 N. Findlay Avenue, will close at 3 p.m. Wednesday 11/22/23 and remain closed through Friday 11/24/23.
