Mandatory water restrictions lifted by proclamation

By order of proclamation of the city manager, mandatory water restrictions in Norman are lifted as of 1:30 p.m. 7/17/2022. The defective pump at Lake Thunderbird has been replaced and standard levels of water distribution through Oklahoma City agreements have been restored.

Residents are reminded of year-round odd/even irrigation schedules in Norman – properties with an address ending in an odd number should practice outdoor irrigation on odd-numbered calendar days and properties with an address ending in an even number should practice outdoor irrigation on even-numbered calendar days. To learn more about conservation and environmental sustainability, visit www.normanok.gov/green-norman.

Hand watering (hand-in-hose or hand-on-watering-can) is permitted at any time but greatly encouraged before 9 a.m. or after 6 p.m. Outdoor “irrigation” (sprinkler systems, yard sprinklers or unattended watering) should only be done on designated irrigation days as outlined above and is greatly encouraged to occur before 9 a.m. or after 6 p.m.

The City of Norman appreciates the support and cooperation of community members and businesses during this time. To receive future public service announcements from the City of Norman directly to your email inbox, sign up for Norman News at www.normanok.gov/norman-news.
