Swim Lesson Levels

Parent & Child (ages 6 months – 3 years)

This course is for a parent and child to learn about water safety. It is designed to help children become more comfortable in the swimming pool while learning water safety tips and games for the development of their swimming future.

Classes are offered 10:30 – 11:00am & 6:00 – 6:30pm

Level 1 Preschool (Ages 3-5) or Youth (Ages 6-13)

This level is for the beginner just starting out. No previous swim experience is required.

Swimmers will learn:

  • Safety around water
  • Putting their facing in the water and holding their breath without goggles
  • Floating on stomach with head under water for five to 10 second
  • Floating on back for five to 10 seconds
  • Front forward glide
  • Proper arm and leg mechanics for moving forward 10 feet

Next Level: Swimmer should move to Level 2 if they are comfortable in the water and can meet all of the above requirements.

Level 2 Preschool (Ages 3-5) or Youth (Ages 6-13)

This level is for swimmers that are comfortable in the water and can meet all the Level 1 requirements.

Swimmer will learn:

  • Safety around water
  • Front glide with a kick and face in the water for 15 feet
  • Forward movement on front and back using combined arm and legs for 15 feet
  • Treading water for one minute
  • Float on back for 20 to 30 seconds without help
  • Jumping in and swimming back to the wall without help

Next Level: Swimmer should move to Level 3 if they are confident in the water and can meet all of the above requirements.

Level 3 Preschool (Ages 3-5) or Youth (Ages 6-13)

This Level is for swimmers comfortable in the water and starting to learn the fundamentals of swim strokes and endurance. Swimmer must meet all the Level 2 requirements.

Swimmer will learn:

  • Safety around water
  • Front glide with a kick and face in the water for 20 feet
  • Forward movement on front and back using combined arm and legs for 25 yards
  • Treading water for two minutes
  • Float on back for 20 to 30 seconds without help
  • Jumping in the deep-end and swimming back to the wall without help
  • Beginning Freestyle with rotary breathing 25 yards
  • Beginning Backstroke 25 yards
  • Beginning Breaststroke 25 yards

Next Level: Swimmer should move to Level 4 if they are confident in the water and can meet all of the above requirements. The next level is for those wanting to learn the four competitive swim strokes. Level 4 will also work on endurance.

Level 4 Youth (Ages 6-13)

This level is for swimmers comfortable in the water and starting to learn the fundamentals of competitive swim strokes and endurance. Swimmer must meet all the Level 3 requirements.

Swimmer will learn:

  • Safety around water
  • Beginner Butterfly 25 yards
  • Beginning Freestyle with rotary breathing 25 yards.
  • Beginning Backstroke 25 yards
  • Beginning Breaststroke  25 yards
  • Flip turns
  • Diving from the starting blocks

Group Swim Lessons

Weekday Swim Lessons

Each session will be offered Monday - Thursday for two weeks. Lessons are 30 minutes in length.

Private Swim Lessons

Eight 30-minute lessons will be Monday - Thursday for two weeks and held at the same time as group lessons.
Note: Private Lessons are one instructor to one swimmer.

Private Swim Lesson Registration

Refunds

Refunds will not be issued for private lessons & group lessons.

  • Participants may choose to change classes if classes are available
  • Paying for the class holds your spot. So if you cancel your lesson we lose that spot for someone else.
  • Other considerations will be handled on case-by-case bases.
