Councilmember Bree Montoya, a Norman Native, has lived in Ward 3 the greater part of her life in Norman. Councilmember Montoya holds a Bachelors of Accountancy (B.Acc) and Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance with a minor in Economics from the University of Oklahoma.
Councilmember Montoya is the Manager of the Business Valuation and Litigation Support Department at Gray, Blodgett & Company, PLLC, a locally owned public accounting firm established in the early 1980’s. Councilmember Montoya’s professional experience includes business valuation, financial forensics, litigation support and audit.
Councilmember Montoya is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of Oklahoma and holds a permit to practice public accounting. Councilmember Montoya holds the Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV) from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Additionally, Councilmember Montoya is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA).
Councilmember Montoya is an active member of the AICPA, the AICPA’s Forensic and Valuation Services (FVS) and the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPAs).
Councilmember Montoya has been engaged in the Norman community for over 15 years, having served on the Norman Forward Citizens Financial Oversight Board since inception (2015), a graduate of the Norman Police Department (NPD) Citizen’s Police Academy (2013), former Treasurer and Board Member of the Norman Arts Council (2012 - 2021), former Treasurer and Board Member of the Norman Music Alliance (2013 - 2015), Chair of Norman Music Festival (2015) and Secretary and Board Member of Jazz in June (2008 - 2011).
Ward 3 begins where the south boundary of the City intersects with Interstate Highway 35; north on Interstate Highway 35 to Robinson Street; west on Robinson Street to 36th Avenue N.W.; north on 36th Avenue N.W. to Rock Creek Road; west on Rock Creek Road to 48th Avenue N.W.; and north on 48th Avenue N.W. to the Northern City limits (Indian Hills Road).
Councilmember Montoya serves on the Council Finance Committee and Community Planning and Transportation Committee.
