Ward 6 - Joshua A. Hinkle

Councilmember Joshua A.  Hinkle was born and raised in Norman, OK having lived in Norman for the majority of his life. Joshua is a resident of Ward 6 with his family.  Councilmember Hinkle holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in human relations, and a master’s degree in public administration from Randall University, with a concentration on public policy and non-profit management.   

Ward Six begins at the intersection of Indian Hills Road and 12th Avenue N.W.; east on Indian Hills Road to 24th Avenue N.E.; south on 24th Avenue N.E. to Franklin Road; east on Franklin Road to 36th Avenue N.E.; south on 36th Avenue N.E. to Alameda Street; west on Alameda Street to 12th Avenue N.E.; north on 12th Avenue N.E. to Robinson Street; west on Robinson Street to Porter Avenue; north on Porter Avenue to Tecumseh Road; west on Tecumseh Road to 12th Avenue N.W.; and north on 12th Avenue N.W. to City limits.

Councilmember Hinkle currently works at First United Bank as an Assistant Vice President and Community Lender.  He has worked in the banking industry for 20 years.  First United is committed to supporting our local communities and impacting the lives of all community stakeholders.  In addition to his career in finance, Councilmember Hinkle operates a non-profit consulting agency, BAI Strategic Partners, L.L.C. His interest in running for City Council started at a young age watching the meetings on local access television and has grown through service on City commissions and boards.

 

Council Member Hinkle has served on the Norman Arts Council Board, The Firehouse Arts Center Board, The Dale K. Graham Veteran’s Foundation Board, The Norman Next Board, and the Norman Transcript Editorial Board.  In addition to this service, Councilmember Hinkle has fund raised for The United Way of Norman, The Center for Children and Families, Thunderbird Clubhouse, and Big Brother’s Big Sisters of Norman.
