Ward 8 - Scott Dixon

An Oklahoma Native, Councilmember Scott Dixon graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Construction Science and from Oklahoma City University with an M.S. in Energy Management. For the past several years, Scott has been actively involved in various capacities within Norman. He has had the privilege of serving as the President of the Norman Optimist Club. Additionally, his involvement on multiple boards has allowed him to understand the diverse needs and aspirations of our community. He also recently completed the Norman Citizens Academy. 

Ward Eight begins at the intersection of Robinson Street and 36th Avenue N.W. north on 36th Avenue N.W. to Rock Creek Road; west on Rock Creek Road to 48th Avenue N.W.; and north on 48th Avenue, N.W. to the northern City limits, east along the Northern City limits to 12th Avenue N.W.; south on 12th Avenue N.W. to Rock Creek Road; east on Rock Creek Road to 12th Avenue N.E.; south on 12th Avenue N.E. to Robinson Street; west on Robinson Street to Flood Avenue; south on Flood Avenue to Acres Street; west on Acres Street to Berry Road; north on Berry Road to Denison Drive; west on Denison Drive to Sherry Avenue; south on Sherry Avenue to Iowa Street; west on Iowa Street to Rosewood Drive; north on Rosewood Drive to Dakota Street; west on Dakota Street to 24th Avenue N.W.; northerly on 24th Avenue N.W. to Robinson Street; and west on Robinson Street to 36th Avenue N.W.

On a personal note, he is happily married to his wife, Tiffany, and the proud father of two children. The well-being and the future of Norman's youth are central to his priorities as a councilman. He is deeply passionate about creating better opportunities for young families and ensuring that our youth have access to the resources they need to thrive and succeed within our city.

Furthermore, He strongly believes in the economic vitality of our city. He is committed to fostering an environment that attracts new businesses to Norman, bringing smart growth and prosperity that benefits all residents.

Councilmember Dixon began his official service with the City of Norman as Councilmember for Ward Eight on July 2, 2024.  Councilmember Dixon is energetic and excited for this opportunity to serve the citizens of Ward 8. He serves on the City Council Oversight Committee and the Business and Community Affairs Committee.
